Dates: October 28 – November 13th Mondays and Wednesdays from 12:30 – 3:30 Mountain Time

Have you wondered what the right place in the fine art market for you and your work? How should you present your work to galleries? How galleries and museums select artists? What a gallery contract should contain? The importance of social media? What the value of the gallery system is and if there are alternatives to it? If book publishing a real option?

Creating and properly marketing a body of fine art work can be instrumental in developing additional revenue streams to support your business while at the same time keeping your vision fresh and alive. During this workshop you will receive extensive first hand knowledge from author, former New York galleriest, and working professional Thomas Werner. We will cover a range of topics regarding fine art photography, the art market, artist statements, bios, marketing and promotion, publishing, and more.

You do not need to have a project completed in order to take this workshop. We will discuss the kind of imagery you are making as well as existing bodies of work as we develop a pathway that will help you reach your goals and define the best choices for you and your career.

Thomas is author of the book The Business of Fine Art Photography, Routledge, New York, and The Fashion Image for Bloomsbury Publishing, London. He is a former New York gallery owner, former Director of the photography program at Parsons School for Design, and exhibiting artist whose work has been reviewed in The New Yorker Magazine. Thomas is also  a contributor to Adobe’s Lightroom Academy, an Editor at Large for IRKmagazine, a Paris based fashion and culture magazine and website, and founder of Thomas Werner Projects Podcast. A creative consultant, Thomas works one on one with students, creatives, businesses, cultural institutions, and not for profits helping them refine their communications, and achieve their goals in fashion and fine arts.
